Overview
Neuro-ophthalmology deals with vision problems that arise from the nervous system rather than the eye itself - conditions involving the optic nerve, eye movement control, and the visual pathways connecting the eyes to the brain. We evaluate and manage issues such as unexplained vision loss, double vision, optic nerve swelling, and pupil abnormalities, often working closely with neurologists for coordinated care.

- Sudden or unexplained vision loss not explained by a routine eye exam
- Double vision (diplopia), especially of new onset

- OCT of the optic nerve and retinal nerve fiber layer
- Pupil reactivity and eye-movement assessment
- Coordination with neuroimaging (MRI/CT) when indicated
Treatment & Procedure
- Management of optic neuritis and optic nerve disorders
- Treatment coordination for papilledema and raised intracranial pressure
- Prism glasses or targeted therapy for double vision
- Steroid and immunomodulatory therapy where indicated
- Ongoing monitoring in collaboration with neurology
